Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Description: TGTG is seeking a Test Automation Engineer for a government client Information Technology (IT) project. The Test Automation Engineer must have experience supporting a cross-functional agile development environment with other functional teams as required.  The candidate will play a key role in ensuring the project requirements are met, and will be responsible for writing, executing, and reporting on testing activities.  The candidate will operate under the supervision of the Technical Project Manager but will need to be a self-starter and able to complete tasks independently. The ability to perform automated testing within a Microsoft (MS) Dynamics framework will be a critical skill on this project.  Experience with Microsoft Office applications, working in a virtual office setting, and the ability to maintain effective communication are also essential attributes.


Responsibilities:
 
  • Must have experience working with developers, end users and organizations to create test plans and test scripts.
  • Coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan test events. experience in creating reports.
  • Tracks problems and reports on errors that are identified.
  • Must have experience with configuring necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing.
  • Must have comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems and networks and specialized environments.
  • Must manage the defect database under the guidance of senior QA engineers.
  • Ability to develop testing strategies and scenarios for review with both project and client teams to ensure alignment with project requirements and delivery
  • Create testing documentation to include Master Test Plan, User Acceptance Test Plan, Test Cases and Scripts, Test Readiness Review Report, Integration Test Results Report, and other Test Results reports
  • Participate in the DevOps, Agile-Scrum process by assisting with user story development, estimating, and completion of assigned stories
  • As an agile team member start testing at the beginning of each sprint and ensure the scope of a sprint is complete
  • Automated testing within a major testing framework, MS Dynamics 365 business applications, and integration of testing into a continuous integration and continuous deployment pipeline
  • Demonstrated experience in automated functional, regression, performance, installation, compatibility, end-to-end/system, and incremental integration testing.
  • Experience with web application testing using Selenium or other comparable automated testing tool.
  • Strong understanding of automated creation of testing deliverables compatible with a documentation-heavy, agile-based methodology.
  • Ability to maintain close alignment with functional SMEs, development team, project management, etc. throughout the system development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated communication, presentation, organizational, and IT skills
  • Familiar with JIRA, ADO, or other project tracking software
  • Provide daily, weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly metrics as required to leadership and practice partners
  • Recommend and execute improvements
 
Required Skills & Experience
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline, or 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • Applied experience (5 + years):
  • Coordination and management of test events in accordance with approved test plans, procedures, and scripts
  • Knowledge and skills to ensure that test environments are set up accurately
  • Ability to create test plans and reports
  • Must be able to test hardware, software, and networks
  • Work with a Development Team to ensure user stories have testable acceptance criteria
  • Knowledge of modern web applications and underlying technology stack
  • Ability to manage multiple, parallel initiatives and meet established deadlines
  • Excitement for building a product that will be used by the US Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Ability to work in a team environment while also independently solving complex problems with minimal direction.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Setup automated testing to ensure full regression testing is executable
  • Background in programming and testing across platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud Environment and entire suite of MS Office applications
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills, including the ability to communicate with brevity and clarity to government clients and develop work products that meet professional quality standards with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to schedule, organize, and facilitate executive-level virtual meetings and summarize outcomes.
  • Ability to self-organize, balance workload, complete tasks on time (without reminders), proactively seek out assignments, and offer improvements to client delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of the Dynamics 365 (D365) CRM solution from the business / functional perspective
  • Prior experience with VA / US Government Agencies
  • Ability to adapt well to a changing and dynamic client environment and function independently
  • Ability to work nights and weekends (on occasion if needed)
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
Formal Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree required
Years of Professional Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience
